On most laptops the glass can't be replaced on its own, so a cracked screen means a new LCD panel. Your files stay untouched, because a screen swap doesn't touch your storage.

If the rest of your laptop works well, a new battery is almost always the smartest choice. A laptop battery lasts 3 to 5 years on average.

Want to check yours? Type powercfg /batteryreport in PowerShell or Command Prompt and open the report. If the Full Charge Capacity has dropped below 60–70% of the Design Capacity, replacement is worth it.

The price depends on your model. You hear the exact price after the diagnosis, before we start. Is your laptop older than 7–8 years with several problems at once? Then a new one may be the better choice, and we'll say so.

On some models, yes. If you do, buy the battery from a reliable supplier: cheap no-name batteries from unknown webshops can be dangerous because of low-quality lithium cells.

Is the bottom of your laptop bulging, or is the touchpad being pushed up? That's a swollen battery and a safety risk. Stop using the laptop, don't charge it, and bring it in right away.

First, plug in the charger, wait five minutes (not one) and try again. A battery that has run completely flat can stop a laptop from responding at all.

Lights on or fan running, but a black screen? Connect an external monitor via HDMI. If you get a picture there, the problem is the screen or its connection.

Still nothing? Then it's time for a diagnosis. Searching further without test equipment rarely solves it and can cause extra damage. Diagnosis usually within one working day, fixed price before we start.

Turn it off right away and unplug the charger. Take the battery out if you can. Tilt the laptop so the liquid can run out, and don't turn it back on. No rice, no hairdryer: bring it in as soon as possible.

We secure your files first, before any repair. Storage often survives a spill, but that's no guarantee, and acting fast improves the odds a lot.

The cost depends on the damage. After the diagnosis (€60, credited against the repair) you get a quote. If the repair doesn't work, you pay nothing. If you decide not to repair, you only pay the €60 for the diagnostic work. Not every laptop with water damage can be saved. Sometimes the damage to the motherboard is too great, and then we rescue what we can, your files first.

On repairs we give 3 months warranty on our work and on the part we fit. On new products 1 year, or longer if the manufacturer offers that.

If the same defect comes back within that time, we fix it at no extra cost. New damage isn't covered, such as a drop, liquid, misuse or work done by someone else, and neither is normal wear. Not sure? Bring it in: we'll take a look and tell you the cost up front.
